Happy Birthday

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge was 10 years old the other week, as I work nearby and can see it from where I teach I thought I'd stick a few photos on here of it

Whitby Wanderings ...

The other night along with my good friend Andy we set off to photograph the sunset over Whitby, we are lucky in that its only an hour or so's drive.
Well ... the sun came then went and stayed went! so we did a few low light shots

The famous Swing Bridge with The Dolphin Pub, which must be the only pub in the World to be hit by a bridge!

At the bottom of the 199 steps, yes the bottom!

Dracula's View, the beach to the left of the pier is where the boat ran ashore in a storm and a big black dog jumped onto the beach and ran up the 199 steps to the old Abbey, so Bram Stocker would have you believe!

Shaping up for a Sunset

Its allways worth while as a photographer to keep an eye on the weather forecast and a look out on the sky as in the UK the weather can change very quickly
Last night I was watching the clouds clear and dashed off to the river mouth as I suspected a rather dramatic sunset, I wasn't far wrong!

What's left of the old jetty makes a fine point of interest in this image

Cant remember where I read it, but someone once said that as a photographer you should always be looking not only in front but behind you, well this shot is 180 degrees from the jetty shot. Its amazing the change in light from in front of you to behind you!
